News...New Designing Duo

Are you ready for some new twists?

I am happy to announce that my friend and fellow stitcher, R.M. Martz and I will be combining talents to create cross stitch designs.

It's a great deal of fun... brainstorming fabrics, flosses, motifs and finishes, then seeing our concepts together come to fruition. The charts will still continue to be released under Threadwork Primitives.

Our style remains "perfectly primitive" and our goal is to create some finishes which are a bit "different" but still fun and a respite from more intricate pieces.  Our workes, as we have chosen to call them, will be released on an intermittent basis, so we hope you will enjoy looking forward to seeing what our joint efforts produce.

Our first worke is entitled "Autumn Majesty Needleroll" and is due to
be released next week.

Below is a sneak peek....

Happy Stitching and I'll keep you posted!

*A Stitcher's Finish AND Some News*

It 's been a hot and tiring week and I'm so glad that the weekend is finally here.
Those babies at the daycare can sure wear
a girl out : )

Well, a few more fabulous finishes have come in that I just had to post and show you.
First up is from my friend Sanae.  She stitched the "Pins Wreath" freebie on some 32ct Birds of a Feather Nighingale linen and used GA Freedom, Maple Syrup and Grecian Gold.  She has a beautiful blog Tussie Mussie and has so many stitched pieces that are just remarkable.  You'll have to pop over and spend some time there.
* * * *
Next is another finish sent in by Dora.  She has done such a beautiful job of stitching and finishing "Star Spangled".  She stitched this on 35ct Conferderate Gray.
It's a really great new color from WDW.  I just got some in 30ct and it would work for
so many projects.  It's just a beautiful color.
Dora said she loved making the strawberry fob and has made a few more to go with other finishes.  Oh, I'm so glad.  Stitching should be fun.
Thanks girls for sending in your photos.  I do love to see all the creativity of my fellow stitchers.

FYI... There are some new designs on the horizon.
KEEP YOUR EYES OPEN.....
I hope to give you more info and possibly a sneak peak this weekend.
Smiles,
~Nan

~*~Freebie As Promised~*~

Last week I finished a sweet little pinkeep for my TDIPT listings. (see July 11th post)
I got quite a few compliments on it so I thought it would be nice to offer the design as a freebie.
I really like this sweet and simple design and hope you will too.

*A Stitcher's Finish*

I have a few pics to show you that were sent in for "A Stitcher's Finish".
First is 2 finishes by my friend Faye aka Carolina Stitcher.
She has stitched "Pride & Glory".  Don't you just love the star fabric she chose?
Beautiful job.

Next she finished "Star Spangled" into a flag.
Oh, how creative.  I love this idea and it came out so nice.
Faye has a Patriotic Tree that she decorates and it is really fabulous.
If you haven't already seen it, hop on over to her blog and take a look!

I also received a picture of this finish by Carla.  She also stitched "Pride & Glory",
which she framed.  She found the frame while at a garage sale.  What a great find
and it looks just perfect for it.
Thank you for sharing and sending in pictures of your finishes.  I love seeing
them.  They always inspire me and put a smile on my face.
Check back tomorrow.  I haven't offered a freebie in a long time
and I really like to do that every now and then.  I have a little
something you might enjoy stitching.
See you then.
Prim Blessings,
~Nan

*A Creative Weekend*

As you know, I was stitching to my heart's content this past weekend and I am so happy with all that I was able to accomplish.  These pieces will be available on my TDIPT page this Thursday night starting around 9:30.

Pins Wreath Pinkeep
This pinkeep is trimmed in wrinkled seam binding ribbon using a technique called ruching.
This was my first time at ruching and I think I'm hooked on it.  I love the old and dainty look it gives the piece.  It was slow going, but I think with more practice it should get easier : )
This is one of my little designs.

Oh My Stars Pinkeeps
These were stitched using some of my favorite overdyed floss colors.
I think they look very Summery.  They are trimmed in stained chenille and I've added a few of my hand dyed pins.  This is a BBD design.  Very simple and sweet.

Hanging Sampler
This is another BBD Design.  It's stitched with a muted blue Victorian Motto Sampler thread.  The frame was painted a coordinating blue and waxed.

Thanks for stopping by to visit.  I love hearing from you and hope that you'll get a chance to visit To Dwell In Primitive Thymes Merchantile on Thursday night to view all of the wonderful creations the artists have made this month.
Have a great week.

*A Beautiful Day for Stitching*

I spent the day outside on our deck, stitching in the sunshine.  I was supposed to be doing finishing work up in my studio, but it was just too nice of a day to stay inside.  I'm stitching some pieces that I hope to post to TDIPT on the 15th.  As I get them finished I'll try and get pics posted here on my blog.

I recently finished another custom order.  This time for a "Bloom" pinkeep.  The customer wanted something with more of a summery feel, so I used a light greenish overdyed wool and some taupe colored ric rac for the finish.  I got the wool from Ram in the Thicket.  Susan, the owner, has the most amazing array of colors and a whole section dedicated to just primitive colors.  How great is that?
Well, I was very happy with the way it came out and hope she likes it just as much.
Enjoy the day and Happy Stitching.
